Parkstone Motor Company

The Story so far.........

Parkstone Motor Company was set up on the 1st November 1971 by the present owner Colin Anderson. At that time the Parkstone Motors consisted of a tenanted ESSO service station (Cliffsea Service Station), a one bay workshop and a small used car operation.

In 1982, ESSO like a lot of small petrol companies at that time, decided to dispose of their smaller sites. Subsequently, Parkstone Motor Company were able to purchase the site on the condition that we no longer sold petrol.

It was at this junction that we then began to plan what to do next. From our discussions Parkstone Motor Company was born.

Plans were drawn up and permission obtained to erect a showroom, together with a new workshop, which was completed in 1984. From the new showroom and workshop Parkstone Motor Company successfully traded, specializing in Used Citroens. In 1985, Parkstone Motor Company  became only the second SEAT dealer in the UK after being awarded the  franchise, which we have developed over the years, to meet the challenges of todays market demands.

Today, the SEAT dealership continues to prosper at the London Road showroom.

Along the way, Parkstone Motor Company has taken up the Subaru and Isuzu franchises (1988-1997) which were located in the adjoining building to the SEAT dealer. This building was bought in 1987 with a sitting tenant occupying three quarters of the building. From which he ran a very successful body shop operation. With the lease coming to an end in September 2005 we had to decide what to do with the building, Another franchise perhaps?

In September 2004 we became a Suzuki dealer. Parkstone Motor Company started  Suzuki GB PLC at 918 London Road and remained as a Suzuki dealer on that site until demolition started for redevelopment. At the same time we started work on the new Suzuki dealership which was completed in April 2006.

Parkstone Motor Company's first year as a Suzuki dealer on the new site has been very encouraging, so here's to the next 36 years!
